The Jude\u2019s Foundation distributed Ramadan food parcels to poor families in different governorates of Jordan in 2023. This distribution is an annual event that aims to help families meet their basic needs during the holy month of Ramadan. The Foundation focuses on targeting families with specific criteria, such as widows, divorcees, families with disabled children, and large poor families.<\/p>

The Foundation studied the needs of families in poor areas and identified and registered families in need of food assistance. The Foundation then coordinated with local associations to distribute the parcels. The distribution was carried out in open spaces near the homes of the families, and each family received a number that was sent to them the day before the distribution to ensure that they received the assistance and to prevent duplication.<\/p>

Some families were unable to reach the distribution points due to illness or old age. These families were visited by the Foundation and provided with assistance. The Foundation also distributed parcels to informal settlements in the outskirts of the governorates, where most of the residents are of Syrian or Palestinian origin and do not have national identification numbers.<\/p>

The Foundation distributed 750 parcels in total. The types of food items were chosen to meet the needs of families during the holy month of Ramadan.<\/p>

  • Al-Thneah, Karak Governorate: 50 parcels<\/li>
  • Al-Khadelia, Mafraq Governorate: 250 parcels<\/li>
  • Amman, Capital Governorate: 30 parcels<\/li><\/ul>

    Outputs<\/strong><\/p>

    • The Ramadan food parcels programme helped to ensure that poor families in Jordan had access to basic food items during the holy month of Ramadan.<\/li>
    • The distribution of the parcels at the beginning of Ramadan brought joy to the families, who were relieved to have food to feed their families.<\/li>
    • The families were grateful for the quality of the food items in the parcels.<\/li>
    • The programme helped to reduce the burden on local associations, which were unable to meet the needs of all the poor families in their areas.<\/li>
    • The diversity of the families who received parcels gave the Foundation a better understanding of the needs of poor families in Jordan.<\/li>
